Part Two of the Alerian Chronicle.
Victra Naidel has never faced a giant. Now, as Shattered Silence is summoned to the Great Rao Plains, she must lead them against a gathered force of giants on the march to war. In the wide expanses of the Deepwood Wilds, there is said to be no greater huntress. And for the time she has been with Shattered Silence, she has always trusted the reliability of Heath, as their bond was strengthened over years. As the mercenaries ride eastward, Victra has neither the familiarity of the forests nor the confidence of knowing her old friend is watching her back.
As war threatens Aleria and the Eastern Heartlands, Victra must lead a small company against the host of giants. Their first conflict could very well determine the course of this impending war, flaming it to greater devastation or halting it before it can even begin. Victra must trust her instincts, rely on her new allies, and pray that her Veiled Matron guides her path towards her greater purpose on Valir.
